Moscow Mountain Trails

The Trails

Private Land
Public Access

Almost all of Moscow Mountain’s 60+ miles of trails are on privately owned land.  We have access to them because of the generosity of the landowners, and our relationships with them.

We’ve got a simple ask: keep that in mind when you’re out there enjoying the mountain.

Rules of the Trail

  • No Motorized Vehicles
  • No Fires
  • No Target Shooting
  • Be Considerate to Other Users
  • Respect Trail Closures

Kudos to Jason Karl for grooming the track last night.
Good for all uses. Skiing up higher when it softens up later in the day.

Thanks Jeremy Pinto for the cool winter trail pic.

Winter track should be solid for next 3 days until the next spring thaw forecast for Wed, but who knows. I haven't been able to get up there. Trail reports are most welcomed. Ideally you can go to Trailforks or our website mambatrails.org/trails/ for trail reports and submit a trail report. The winter trails are "Headwaters Winter Loop", "North Loop" and "Paradise Spur".
Note Paradise Spur has not been groomed since the big snow.
Enjoy, post pics and trail reports! THANKS!

Riding great today! Thank you great to have winter play options on the Palouse.

So amazing! Thank you so so so much for setting this and your hard work ✨🙏🏻❤️

Solid as a rock yesterday afternoon!

Trail packed well last night and was starting to set up. Down tree set us back a bit...Please turn back if you are leaving tracks. Should be ok for fat bike 4 low tp.
Hike, run probably not til tomorrow after a day of freezing. Please use good judgment and educate anyone you see out there. Thanks!

Emily Harmon thanks for asking. If you are leaving more than an inch deep track best to stay off today. Dogs may leave more of a track but doesn't usually cause a problem. Should be set well later today to tomorrow morning. Then I looks like an even warmer Jan spring thaw coming by Tues🙄

good morning! I'd love to go out on the mountain for an adventure today, but I'll be hiking with my dog and don't want to ruin any work you've done. I'm trying to be a better trail/mountain user but don't always know what to do/proper etiquette. any recommendations? would foothills road by headwaters be okay if we stayed to the edges, or should we just wait it out? Any advice welcome!

anyone know conditions for east side trails out of tamarack?

Tracks =not ok Tearing up with a fat tire=👍🏼 Am I just misinterpreting what tracks means?

Wow, what a wet, winter wonderland it became!! Yesterday afternoon I got two passes with the sled without the tire so, not smooth to try and get some packing. Only got stuck twice! See pic below for a laugh (dont worry DHN no damage incurred!!). Spring thaw in Jan...

Tonight Matt Pollard and I are going out to pack and smooth in preparation for the freeze coming tonight.

***PLEASE*** If the trail is not set tomorrow and you are sinking more than an inch, dont use the groomed track. It is going to freeze for at least the next few days and we will be stuck with your tracks marring our beautiful trail, Not cool! Dino print in sandstone, cool!Image attachment

Thank you. So many trail users need to follow winter trail etiquette. It makes a huge difference knowing users won’t mar the groomed areas.
