Moscow Mountain Trails

The Trails

Private Land
Public Access

Almost all of Moscow Mountain’s 60+ miles of trails are on privately owned land.  We have access to them because of the generosity of the landowners, and our relationships with them.

We’ve got a simple ask: keep that in mind when you’re out there enjoying the mountain.

Rules of the Trail

  • No Motorized Vehicles
  • No Fires
  • No Target Shooting
  • Be Considerate to Other Users
  • Respect Trail Closures

Another opportunity to provide input on and support for local non-motorized recreation

Another opportunity to provide input on and support for local non-motorized recreationGreetings! We are submitting a new recreation grant proposal to the Idaho Parks and Rec ORFAC program to get two new snowmobiles and build several trail bridges at Flat Creek, Hatter Creek and Big Meadow as well as a warming hut for XC skiing. Attached picture is one of our 25+ year old sleds broken down last year- These machines are on their very last legs and likely won't make it through grooming trails this winter. The grant would also fund several new high-quality informational signs about forests, forestry and forest products throughout the UIEF.

We're looking for support from people and groups who enjoy XC-skiing, running, hiking, biking and walk-in hunting on the UIEF who will benefit from this grant! Please like or comment below and/or contact Rob at robk@uidaho.edu if you can submit a letter of support. We will also have two meetings with info on specific bridge locations. The first is in IRIC Room 305 on the Moscow campus Friday, 9/27 at 3 PM. The second will be at 4:30 PM, Friday, 9/27 at the UIEF shop at 3501-ID 6, Princeton, ID, 83857. (Big green shop next to the turn for Hatter Creek Rd on Highway 6). This is a rare and great opportunity to really improve outdoor recreation on the UIEF and we need your support!! Thanks

I'm happy to write a letter of support. The UIEF is such a pretty place, and I'd love to be able to enjoy it more during the winter. You definitely need some updated machines!

I’d be glad to contribute a letter. We’ve enjoyed skiing there, and appreciate its proximity.

I will write a letter of support.

Hey Palouse area trail users! This is an opportunity to provide feedback on a nearby trail system.
Wouldnt it be great to have some more multi-use single track? 😁

Hey Palouse area trail users! This is an opportunity to provide feedback on a nearby trail system.
Wouldn't it be great to have some more multi-use single track? 😁To all who love McCroskey State Park:

We are seeking your help! To continue to preserve and improve this beautiful place, we are looking for people who would be willing to be interviewed by a team of students from the University of Idaho that are assisting us in a survey.

We’d like information on how to improve motorized and non-motorized trail usage, accessibility, with preservation of this important resource for generations to come a top priority.

Please send us a direct message or email us at HEY@idpr.idaho.gov if you’re interested. Thank you!
